Post Graduate Center
Cherry Creek High School’s post graduate center is designed to support each student and family in reaching their post graduate plans. The planning process begins their freshman year and culminates at the end of the senior year with a plan for college, technical school, military career, gap year, or direct career entry.
The post graduate center provides students with the knowledge and resources needed so that each individual student feels that he or she is empowered to make an appropriate choice for his or her post graduate plans. The post graduate center provides opportunities and education to all students, parents, and families concerning college searches, admissions, financial aid, and possible scholarship opportunities. The post graduate center works closely with colleges to provide accurate information and fosters the relationship with a broad variety of colleges to be able to meet the needs of the individual student.
Counselor’s Role
Counselors work closely with the post graduate center starting in a student’s freshman year to help individualize the student’s four year plan and to guide them to the appropriate resources to reach their post graduate plan. This is a decision making process where counselors support the student through large group assemblies, small group workshops, and one-on-one counseling to help identify their individual interests, discuss career goals, and the important factors for the individual student in his or her college search.  We value the relationships we develop with students and their families and we look forward to providing personal, positive, and appropriate assistance to our Cherry Creek community.
Our Post Graduate Center is a great resource for:
  • Visits from admissions representatives from post-secondary institutions in the U.S., Canada and abroad
  • ACT/College Board test preparation information
  • Financial aid and scholarship information
  • Career and occupation information
  • Summer enrichment program information
  • U.S. military opportunity information
  • Resource books on colleges and careers
Students may use the available computers in the Post Graduate Center to:
  • Conduct college or career interest and abilities inventories
  • Conduct college research on Naviance
  • Utilize inventory results to connect to possible occupations, college majors and universities/colleges
  • Acquire information on specific colleges or universities and/or complete an online application
  • Research or apply for financial aid
