CREEK ATHLETICS
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Athletic Department at Cherry Creek High School welcomes you to one of the finest high schools in the nation. This information is intended to answer questions you may have concerning the athletic programs at CCHS preceding your first days on our campus next fall.
CHERRY CREEK SCHOOL DISTRICT ATHLETIC REGISTRATION PROCESS
The official start date for boys' golf is August 8, 2016. All other fall sports officially begin on August 15, 2016. Prior to being cleared to practice, each student athlete must have the online athletic registration forms completed, as well as a physician's clearance turned into the Athletics Office. Online registration information for all fall sports will be available on the CCHS website under Athletics beginning in July 2016.
Currently, the Cherry Creek School District requires a $90 athletic fee* per sport. For out-of-district fees, and for home-school "athlete only" students, please call the Athletic Office at 720-554-2461.
Athletic fees, a physician's clearance, and online registration are all required prior to a student being cleared to practice or try out.
General fall sports information will be available at the end of the school year, both online and in the main office at Cherry Creek High School. The Athletic Office will be closed for the summer, and will re-open on July 26.
*Athletic fees are subject to change
PARTICIPATION GUIDE
2016-2017
SPORTS If you are interested in going out for interscholastic sports at Cherry Creek High School, make sure you are familiar with the various programs offered and the procedures involved for registration and participation. To get involved in a sport, it is highly advised that you attend a meeting approximately one month before the season starts. The information for this meeting will be posted throughout the school and students will also be notified through the student announcements via school email.
CUT POLICY Some sports will involve cutting students from a team. This is due to many factors, the most important being the safety and welfare of students. Other reasons are: limited numbers needed on a particular team, facilities and space availability, equipment limitations, lack of athletic ability and individual coaching philosophies. Team cut policies are listed below. "Cut/No-Cut" policies may change due to future legislation and/or budget decisions.
