bricks outside of the schoolBricks for Bruins:

Several years ago an initiative called “Bricks for Bruins” was created to provide families and alum with a way to preserve the great memories they have of Cherry Creek High School while also making their mark on future generations of students who attend Creek. In an effort to support the growing technology needs at Cherry Creek High School, personalized bricks can be purchased for $100. Your tax deductible contribution to this cause not only provides better opportunities for students, it helps support Cherry Creek High School’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence. Please consider purchasing a brick to honor a graduate, commemorate a loved one, or recognize a family. Help Cherry Creek High School build for our future . . . brick by brick! To order a brick, click BRICKS FOR BRUINS 2013.pdf.

fine art buttonFriends of the Arts Donation

The Fine Arts department at Cherry Creek High School has been recognized for many years as one of the top departments in the nation.  As our programs grow and our facilities age, we find that we have needs that exceed what we receive each year in funding.  Thanks to the voters in 2012, our Fine Arts theatre will be receiving several aesthetic upgrades including new seating and carpeting.

Here are some of the current department needs that we are hoping to partially fund through Friends of the Arts donations:

  • New darkroom/photography technology
  • Updated lighting and sound equipment in the Fine Arts Theatre
  • Updated pianos in our piano lab and related technology

blue cherry creek logo       Friends of Athletics Donation

The Friends of Cherry Creek Athletics works to help generate funds to support our athletic programs.  During the last five years the budget for athletics has decreased substantially.  Meanwhile the cost of running the athletics program has continued to increase.  In order to continue to sustain our tradition, pride, honor, and excellence, the athletics program has created the Friends of Cherry Creek Athletics.

There are several areas of need.

  • Equipment/Supplies
  • Facility Improvements/Maintenance
  • Extended Season Costs

All donations are welcomed, but please contact us if you would like to earmark your donation for one of these categories as you see fit.

friends of the library butonFriends of the Library Donation

The Friends of the Library was created to support and maintain the high level of excellence at the Kathleen D. Smith Cherry Creek High School library.  Our nationally recognized program has earned many awards throughout the years, including the School Library Media Program of the Year (SLIMPY) Award, the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) Outstanding School Library Award, Colorado Association of Libraries (CAL) Outstanding School Library Award, and the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Highly Effective School Library Program Award.  As the dynamics of the high school library expand beyond the physical wall to include the virtual library with resources available 24/7, we at CCHS want to make sure our students are academically equipped to navigate both systems.  Friends of the Library ensures our CCHS students' preparation for the real world and the higher education experience. Please consider making a donation to maintain the excellence of all elements of our award winning library.
