Tom Tucker has been a high school teacher for 33 years, both in large and small schools, retiring in 2006 to become a college instructor. In 2014, Tom returned to the high school classroom, where he taught AP Literature at 'Iolani School in Honolulu, Hawaii, for the fall semester. He currently teaches expository and argumentative writing at Lansing Community College and mentors many adjunct faculty.
Tom attended Eastern Michigan University and the University of Michigan, earning his B.A. and M.A. in English and American Language and Literature and Secondary Reading. His doctoral work includes research in composition theory and revision.
As a Reader and Table Leader for the AP Literature exam since 1987, Tom has had experience in all three free-response questions. He conducts numerous workshops throughout the Midwest and will serve as a Sample Selector and Table Leader for the 2015 reading.
