We know parking continues to be a concern in the surrounding neighborhoods. Because construction has substantially reduced the amount of parking available on the CCHS campus, the school has issued available parking permits to seniors and juniors. CCHS administration continues to monitor how permitted spaces are being used and is issuing additional parking permits when spaces become available.
The Cherry Creek School District is committed to being a good neighbor as it considers potential plans to address parking needs. We continue to maintain the possibility of transforming Field 10 in Village Greens Park into a parking lot that could accommodate additional students. We are in conversation with the City of Greenwood Village as we explore possibilities. While we may be able to reach a short-term solution that meets this year’s needs, future construction phases will have a larger impact on student parking.
Our goal is to develop a solution that keeps students safe while also being a responsible neighbor to the residents and businesses in the area.
We know that student parking on neighborhood streets can be frustrating for residents. We are continuing to reinforce expectations with students about where they may park and the importance of respecting neighborhood streets, driveways, access points and businesses.
If you experience a parking issue off the Cherry Creek High School campus, please contact the City of Greenwood Village Police Department's non-emergency line at (303) 773-2525.

With Phase I of the Cherry Creek High School rebuild project underway, on-campus student parking will be limited. In partnership with the City of Greenwood Village, CCSD is working to accommodate as much student parking as possible.
2026-27 school year
- The majority of CCHS Seniors will be accommodated on campus
- CCHS Juniors will be accommodated off site at Village Greens Park
Parking at Village Greens Park
The existing north and south parking lots at Village Greens Park offers approximately 280 parking spots for Juniors.
- Student vehicles will be identified with an official CCHS decal and all student parking spaces will be lined in white
- There will continue to be ample parking available for park users and those parking spaces will be lined in yellow
- Signage to this effect will be put up at Village Greens Park
The remaining drivers in the Junior class (approximately 200 drivers) will be accommodated through the development of an additional parking lot on the north side of Village Greens Park (see map below). Construction on this new lot will begin soon and is expected to be completed during first semester.
Additional Parking and Buses
CCSD continues to work with several local churches in the area to identify additional parking to accommodate CCHS Sophomores who are eligible to drive. CCHS will continue to communicate with Sophomores if parking options become available.
Additional bus routes will also be offered for CCHS students during this time.
Security
The District has funded two security positions that will be utilized to patrol student and staff parking lots both on and off campus. The school is funding two crossing guard positions to make sure students are supervised when crossing busy roads.
Neighborhood Parking
Student parking in surrounding neighborhoods is strictly prohibited. The Greenwood Village Police Department and Code Enforcement will actively enforce these restrictions to protect residents and maintain safety. A comprehensive enforcement plan will be in place before school starts.
Greenwood Village has also begun early evaluation of potential parking districts in nearby neighborhoods. These preliminary discussions include exploring whether a new parking district may be appropriate for the Village on the Lake neighborhood, and whether expanding the existing Cherry Creek Village North parking district to the entire neighborhood could help manage expected parking pressures related to the school campus.
At this stage, no decisions have been made. We want to emphasize that your input will be important, and you will be notified before any formal action is considered. We are sharing this information now to ensure transparency as part of this broader project update.
Drivers without official parking decals or drivers who are parking in unauthorized areas will face consequences. If you are a local resident and have a parking issue occurring off the Cherry Creek High School campus, please contact the City of Greenwood Village Police Department’s non-emergency line at (303) 773-2525.
