GENERAL INFORMATION

The Cherry Creek School District and CCHS health clinics are focused on keeping our students safe and healthy. We strive to maximize each student's potential by removing health-related barriers to learning.

If your student is ill, please notify the attendance office and keep them home from school. If you are unsure if you should keep your student home, feel free to contact the health clinic.

OVER-THE-COUNTER (OTC) MEDICATION

We strongly encourage students to bring their own OTC. This minimizes interruptions to valuable instructional time. Examples of OTC’s would be ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin) and acetaminophen (Tylenol), antihistamines (ZyrTEC, Claritin).

Students carrying their own medication may bring a one-day supply each day. Medications must be carried in the original packaging.

To be given occasional over-the-counter (OTC) medication in the clinic, the OTC form found on the district check-in forms must be completed and submitted online.

PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION

Clinic administration of medication provides accountability that your student receives regular doses and allows the medication to be safely stored in a school clinic. A permission form must be completed and signed by the parent and physician before the clinic staff may administer medication to a student.

Prescription medication must be in a pharmacy container that includes the name of the medication, dose, time and student’s name.

CONCUSSIONS

Concussion Protocol is currently being updated by the District Health Services Team.  If your student has a concussion, please contact the clinic associated with your student's last name.
